Renewable Energy: Event trends 2024

This year, WindEnergy Hamburg, Europe’s on and offshore event show (September 24-27), was characterised by brands showcasing the latest innovations in the sector. In turn, we explore the innovations, trends, strategies and tactics deployed at this year’s WindEnergy event.

1. Visualisations

2. Reusable & Flexible

3. Inviting Spaces

Visualisations

If you Google ‘trends in events’, you’ll likely see technology led initiatives; augmented reality, apps, gamification, AI experimentation and immersive technology, to name a few. Within renewable energy, there maintains a reliance on traditional communication methods.

Paired with a changing digital screen behind and below their model, Beam maintained the traditional benefits of a model whilst having a visually engaging and informative asset.

Reusable and Flexible

Driven by a force to be sustainable, adaptability has become crucial across the events industry. The renewable energy sphere showcases some great examples of modular event space.

Schunk’s flexible event space allows them to make the most of event space regardless of the location. With walls that split into 3 heights, the team can tailor the event stand to the height regs of any event organiser.

Inviting Spaces

When designing your stand, it’s crucial to align it with your business strategy to maximise success at every event. This includes everything from the KPIs you aim to achieve to the materials you’ll use and how they’ll compliment each other. Making sure your goals are reflected in the stand’s design will help ensure a strong return on investment.

Wood features, whether for environmental or aesthetic purposes, could be seen throughout WindEnergy this year. Cadeler provide an example of wood being used effectively from flooring, wall mountings and wall features.

Key Learnings

Visualisations

Whilst  traditional models prove beneficial, there is an opportunity to integrate technology to add more interactivity to the experience. By hosting digital in a physical space, the models can come to life. This could lead to new opportunities like lead capturing, or enhancing your brands’ image at the event.

Reusable and Scalable

At Ignition, we regularly advise our clients on opportunities to support a circular economy in the exhibitions  sphere. We’re always coming up with innovative ideas to reuse materials and metamorphosise stand elements. Speak to the team to see how we can enhance your sustainability, wherever you exhibit.

Inviting Spaces

The need to host a space for in-depth conversations with visitors is crucial. Partnering with the right events team allows you to create these spaces with your KPIs and ROI at the heart of the design. Whether you’re attending to maintain existing relationships or capture new business, your booth layout should be tailored to support these goals.
