Our March update! It's been busy..
Our March Wrap-up
International Women’s Day
Ignition is proud to be part of Istoria Group and March is always a busy month for us all across the Group! At the start of March we celebrated International Women’s Day by showcasing three incredible women we are lucky to work with as part of the ‘Inspire Inclusion’ theme. We asked them three questions:
What does this year's International Women's Day theme of Inspire Inclusion mean to you?
Who has inspired you in your life and career, and why?
What advice would you give to others about actions they can take to inspire inclusion?
Have a look at their video responses on Istoria Group’s website.
B Corp Month
March is also B Corp month, the annual celebration and recognition by all businesses which have been certified of what it means to run a business with a triple bottom line of people, purpose and profit.
This year’s theme was ‘This Way Forward’, and to mark the celebrations we’ve been busy flying the flag and celebrating what it means to be a B Corporation. Our CEO Samantha Rowe was asked to participate in a panel discussion at the Purposefest event in Bristol.
Attended by 450 people from all over the UK the event is only in its second year and the audience demonstrated why running business with a purpose is so vital when we look at the challenges faced in the world today.
The panel session focused on ‘Amplifying the Message’ of purpose and how companies should promote what they do without falling foul of overclaiming and greenwashing.
We are all very aware that businesses play a vital role in shaping a better future for everyone, so we also worked with our own team of business experts to share five ways your business can make a positive change, you can take a read of that here.
Agency Open Day
The end of the month saw us organise an Agency Open Day, very much inspired by the theme this year, designed to offer a way forward to people looking to break into the creative industries and was called - Careers in PR and Design: A taste of the industry.
Run with fellow B Corp agency and neighbour business Purplefish, the open day was organised in partnership with Babbasa, a Bristol-based social enterprise which supports young people (16-25) with their professional aspirations, irrespective of their backgrounds.
With over 20 people attending, the sessions were all booked up and we offered a range of interactive exercises to show the sort of work we do as a creative agency and how rewarding and fulfilling working in the creative industry can be.
As part of this open day, we will be creating new, paid opportunities for people to work with us and become part of our team.
