Ignition shortlisted for two IEMA Awards

Ignition have been recognised for innovation in sustainability with two shortlists for the IEMA Sustainability Impact Awards 2020.

The IEMA Sustainability Impact Awards 2020 shortlist was announced on Wednesday 1 July.

Ignition is a finalist within the Sustainable Leader and Sustainable Organisation (private sector) category. This is a great achievement and builds upon our success earlier this year, winning a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development.

We are also delighted that our CEO, Sam Rowe has been recognised for embedding sustainability throughout our business. Our core service offering isn’t naturally of a sustainable nature, but it’s how we’ve conducted ourselves from the start. We were the 1st company in our industry to be certified with ISO 20121 (Sustainable Events Management). Sustainability is part of our culture, and Sam is an advocate for intelligent design and innovation, with direct environmental impacts.

An overview of each category is shared with you below.

Sustainable Leader

Awarded to an individual who is a pioneer in their organisation and an example for the environment and sustainability profession. A champion of environmental, social and economic issues, this individual will be able to demonstrate how their passion, work, innovation and leadership has inspired positive outcomes for their business and society.

Sustainable Organisation (Private Sector)

This award will recognise the organisation that has best demonstrated an overall commitment to sustainability and to future-proofing their business, including those who have designed and implemented a strategy focussed on sustainability.
