Krix
Creating European sound waves for an Australian speaker brand
Australian loudspeaker manufacturer Krix took a high-profile location for the company’s second visit to ISE, Europe’s largest AV and systems-integration exhibition. Krix’s aim was to stand out in and strengthen its European market position, whilst at the same time showcasing the global launch of a brand new product – the MX-40 3-way modular screen speaker system.

Challenge
The challenge to Ignition was to create a presence for the brand that was ‘dynamic, bold and refined’ and which would ensure an immediate impact amongst Krix’s direct competitors in the hall. As well as embodying the qualities of the speakers themselves within the design of the booth, one of the company’s larger and heavier speaker systems also had to be incorporated, without detracting from the overall aesthetic.
With new distributors and relationships building in the UK, Germany, Sweden, Spain – as well as many other countries - it was important for Krix that the booth that was not only visually impressive but also acoustically impeccable, so that prospective clients could meet the brand, witness the new product and experience the quality of the company’s sound systems first-hand.
Our aim was to keep all visual distractions to a minimum, with sharp, yet simple geometry and a clean design that places full emphasis on the client’s cinema home speakers, the MX-40 system.
Solution
Ignition’s concept was sharp, simple and daring and featured an eye-catching asymmetric geometric design. By keeping all visual distractions to a minimum, including dispensing with counters and ensuring seating was at a low height, Krix’s loudspeaker product truly was king.
Each time the speakers were demonstrated, crowds gathered to watch the accompanying mini movie and appreciate the cinema-quality sound. The open design of the 20 sq m exhibit ensured it was easy for visitors to step into the booth and interact with the product.
Low-level seating at the front created a popular area for informal client meetings, whilst integrated lockable storage housed AV equipment and a display plinth provided additional hidden storage space.
The design highlighted the feature product walls with LED lighting, whilst additional spotlights ensured visitor focus was cleared directed towards the MX-40 speaker. The booth’s illuminated 3D acrylic signage for the Krix brand created a strong brand presence at a high level, whilst the clean vinyl backdrop below in the blue of the company’s brand ensured the product stood out.
